1) 인류 속의 또 다른 문명

인류는 아래와 같은 진화의 선택을 할 수 있다.

첫 번째, 급속한 인위적인 생체적 진화를 이루어, 내적인 생체 능력 향상과 더불어, 외적인 특수 능력 또는 신체적 결점을 보완하는 것이다.

두 번째로, 기계적인 외부 도움을 얻어, 신체적 한계를 극복하고 월등한 힘과 능력을 보유하는 것이다.

이렇게, 인류는 크게 두 가지로 그 방향을 결정짓고 발전을 이룰 수 있다.

앞서 설명한 바와 같이, 이미 문명적 존재로 성장한 인류만큼은 스스로 올바른 진화의 길을 선택해 대처하며 살아남을 수 있어야하며, 지구 생명과 문명적 존재인 자신을 위해서라도 현명한 선택이라는 사실을 기억해야 할 것이다.

현재 인류는 스스로가 이룩한 현재인류의 과학문명의 결과만으로도 충분히 문명적 존재로서 존중받고, 그 권리를 누릴 수 있으며, 더욱이, 스스로의 진화를 결정지을 수 있을 만큼의 능력을 가졌기 때문에, 예전과 다른 측면에서의 생태계 논리를 적용해야하는 것이다.

즉, 적자생존, 약육강식은 인위적 진화를 하지 못하고, 자연적 진화만을 고집할 적, 이야기이고, 인위적 진화가 본격적으로 가능한 문명적 인류에게는 본질적 문명의 존재로써, 그 해당사항이 없다고 볼 수 있는 것이다.

물론, 잘못된 첫 번째 형태의 인위적 진화의 결과로 소수의 뛰어난 인류 집단이 탄생하여, 스스로의 능력을 공유하지 않고, 단순히 인류 속에서 권력을 휘두르거나 말썽을 피우게 된다면, 그러한 존재들로 인해, 인류가 위험에 처할 확률도 있다.

이에 따라, 애초부터 인류는 이러한 사태가 발생하지 않도록, 매우 조심스럽고 신중한 행보를 가야 하는 것이다.

특히, 돈과 권력을 바탕으로 이기적인 인위적인 진화를 이루어, 권력과 부가 인위적 진화의 차이로 작용하게 되고, 이로 인해 본질적인 인류의 괴리성을 심화시킬 경우, 인류는 신종 계급사회로 나뉘어 분열될 수도 있는 것이다.

현재의 예를 들어 보아도, 돈이 많은 자는 각종 의료혜택을 비롯해 문명의 혜택을 많이 볼 수 있기 때문에, 더 오래살고 더욱 뛰어난 신체적 보조 혜택도 누릴 수 있다고 볼 수 있다.

즉, 이것이 일부계층에 의해, 인위적 진화의 악용과 남용으로 연결될 경우, 그 파급효과는 인류 스스로에게 매우 부정적인 영향을 끼치게 될 수도 있는 것이다.

그러므로, 인위적 진화는 체계성을 갖추어야 하며, 법적인 보호 속에 안정성을 이루고, 인류전체로 점진적이고 보편적으로 이루어져야 마땅하다.

또한, 차등적 진화는 갈등과 불균형을 초래하는 위험한 시발점이나 변종의 위험성도 있을 수 있기에, 차등적 진화를 추구하는 자에게도 더 큰 화로 되돌아오며, 모두의 자멸을 불러오게 될 수 있다는 사실을 반드시 기억해야 할 것이다.

반드시, 위에서 제시된 첫 번째 유형의 내적인 인위적 진화의 경우, 인류의 주도적이고 철저한 통제와 감시 속에 면밀한 테스트와 검토, 검증을 거쳐, 안정적이고, 보편적으로 이루어져야만 할 것이다.

반드시, 인류는 진화의 차등성을 최대한 억제하며, 인위적 진화를 해야 하는 두 마리토끼를 모두 잡을 수 있어야 할 것이다.

또한, 도덕적인 가치와 규범을 확립하여 인류의 분열과 가치의 혼란, 과도한 욕심으로 인한 제어 및 통제가 어려운 지나친 진화의 가능성까지도, 모두 통제할 수 있어야 할 것이다.

결국, 인류는 인류에서 자연적 또는 인위적으로 잘못된 형태의 또 다른 내부의 존재 출현을 심각히 경계할 필요가 있으며, 이질적으로 나눠지지 않도록, 처음부터 적극적이고 철저하게, 통제하고 감시하며, 인류의 화합과 발전, 동질성, 본질적 진화까지도 이루어내는데 큰 힘을 기울일 수 있어야 할 것이다.

그렇게 된다면 인류는 좀 더 안정적인 미래를 그려나가며, 본질적 생존을 추구할 수 있게 될 것이다.

외계문명은 정말로 존재할까?

솔직히, 넓디넓은 우주에 미성숙한 작은 문명이라도 존재하지 않을 이유는, 거의 없어 보인다.

물론, 뛰어난 외계문명을 가진 존재도 포함해서 그렇다.

그래서, 그들은 인류와 같은 문명이 얼마나 소중하고 값진 존재인지도 잘 알고 있을 것이다. 물론, 소중하고 값진 존재라는 것은 문명의 발생과 소멸의 입장에서 살아남는 희소성에 대한 의미로 해석할 수 있을 것이다.

따라서, 인류가 자연생태계의 미물에게, 인위적인 손길을 주지 않고, 있는 그대로의 삶을 존중해주듯, 외계문명도 우주질서를 어지럽히지 않는 이상, 인류를 그냥 내버려둘 가능성이 높은 것이다.

물론, 그러한 극단적인 사태가 발생한다하여도 구원의 손길은 기대해서는 안 된다. 왜냐하면 그것조차도 우주 생태계의 적합한 문명을 가늠해주는 과정의 적자생존 원칙이라고도 볼 수 있기 때문이다. 즉, 인류도 진정한 우주의 문명적 구성원으로써, 권리와 자부심을 가질만한, 진정한 자격과 능력, 가치성을 얻는 과정이라고 볼 수 있기 때문이다.

자연법칙에 따라 내버려두면 내버려뒀지, 인위적인 형태로 인류를 건들기보다는 연구적 가치로 활용할 확률이 더 높다. 즉, 대체로 그들은 인류를 비롯해, 다른 외계문명들의 삶을 간섭하지 않고 인정해 주며, 관찰하고 감시, 연구할 가능성이 더욱 높은 것이다.

일반적으로 생명체가 출현하여 약간의 문명을 발달시킬 수는 있겠지만, 그 이상의 문명을 발달시키려면, 먼저, 자연을 정면으로 싸워 이길 수 있어야 하고, 그 다음 자신과의 싸움에서 이길 수 있어야 한다.

이밖에도 고도로 발달된 문명을 일으키려면, 많은 조건들이 필요하다.

지구와 같은 규모의 행성에서 문명의 지식이 전달되지 않는 이상, 위의 문명수준까지는 아니지만, 어느 정도 고도로 발달된 또 다른 문명을 일으킬 기회는 많아야, 한두 번 정도 될 것이다.

어쨌든, 짧은 기간 동안 문명을 일으키고, 큰 환경적 재난이 발생하기 전에 고도로 발달된 문명으로 성장시켜야하며, 또, 고도로 발달된 문명은 멸망으로 가는 길을 피해, 슬기롭게 미래를 개척해 나가야, 비로소, 수만 년 이상 문명을 지속하며, 오래도록 살아남을 수 있는 발판을 마련할 수 있다고 볼 수 있게 되는 것이다.

즉, 이 모든 것이 충족될 때, 비로소, 외부적 요인들이나 내적 문제로 인해, 멸망할 가능성으로부터, 잠시 한숨 돌려도 되는 시기에 왔다고 볼 수 있게 되는 것이다.

물론, 정말로 쉬는 일은 발생하지 않겠지만, 그렇게까지 급박하게 인류의 체제를 정비하고 과학기술을 발달시키며, 서둘러 대책을 마련할 필요성이 다소 줄었다는 의미로 해석하면 될 것이다. 즉, 어느 정도 문명의 가장 어려운 시기를 극복하였다는 것을 의미한다.

이러한 문명수준은 지구가 파멸해도 충분히 지구 밖으로 나가 생존 할 수 있는 기술력과 능력을 확보했다고 볼 수 있기 때문에, 환경선택의 폭이 넓어져, 인류의 생존력이 더욱 커졌다고 볼 수 있게 되는 것이다.

또한, 지구의 환경시스템도 인위적으로 조절 가능한 수준이라고 볼 수 있을 것이다.

나) 외계문명의 유형

외계문명은 크게 문명 수준에 따라, 나눌 수 있다고 볼 수 있을 것이다.

하지만, 그 문명의 수준은 쉽게 가늠할 수는 없기에, 대략적으로 지속시간을 기준으로 그 문명의 수준을 가늠해보고 분류해 낼 수도 있게 될 것이다.

이들은 일반적인 우주의 문명을 전혀 위협적으로 생각하지도 않을 것이며, 자원 문제도 없으며, 스스로 최적의 태양계시스템도 구축할 수 있기 때문에, 따로 식민지를 건설할 필요도 없을 것이다.

또, 위협적으로 판단되는 문명이 있다면 주저 없이 순식간에 우주상에서 사라지게 만드는 것도 가능 할 것이다.

이러한 존재는 별이나 행성을 만들고 이동시키는 것에서부터 생명을 창조하고 블랙홀을 조절하고 이용하여, 생명이나 별, 혹은 쓰레기, 불필요한 존재, 적들을 쓸어버리고, 조합할 수 있고, 차원적 이동으로 어디로든 자유롭게 여행하며, 거의 모든 제약적 조건을 극복할 수 있는 전지전능한 존재라고 볼 수 있는 외계문명이다.

하지만, 이들이 초고도로 높은 수준의 문명을 가질 수 있었던 것은 바로 고도의 정신문명을 이룩하였기 때문에, 가능한 사실이라는 사실도 잊어서는 안 될 것이다.

그들은 올바른 가치 형성에 성공하였고 삶의 이유를 찾았으며, 본질적으로 해야 할 일을 깨달았기에 그러한 문명을 유지 존속시킬 수 있는 것이다.

따라서, 이들은 함부로 우주에서 태어난 산물인 생명을 경시하거나 파괴하고, 또는 창조하려고 하지도 않을 것이다.

그 다음 낮은 단계로 10~100만년 이상의 과학문명을 발달시켜온 ‘고도로 발달된 외계문명’은 초고도로 발달된 외계문명의 존재를 잘 알지 못한 채, 활동하게 될 것이다.

물론, 이러한 사실은 단계별 외계문명들에게도 모두 적용된다.

자신보다 매우 월등한 외계문명은 은폐 및 엄폐 능력이 월등하여, 결코, 쉽게 눈에 띄거나 감지되는 일이 없을 것이다.

초고도로 발달된 외계문명으로 가는 길목에 위치한 이들은 그 길목에서 아직은 불안정한 가치성에 의해, 전쟁이나 이익다툼, 가치성의 심각한 문제가 발생할 수 있는 여지가 있다.

이 위기를 잘 극복한다면, 오래도록 번성할 수 있는 문명적 단계로 성장해 나갈 수 있게 될 것이다.

이렇게 제시된, 위 두 가지 유형의 외계문명들의 공통점을 살펴보면, 다른 열등한 문명을 파괴할 능력은 월등하지만, 자신에게 위협이 되지 않는 이상, 다른 문명을 존중해주고 자연의 법칙에 따라 지켜볼 확률이 높다는 것이다.

이들도 자신보다 뛰어난 외계문명의 존재를 알지 못한 채, 초창기 많은 종류의 자원 획득과 무분별한 식민지를 개척하기 위해서 전쟁이나 다른 행성의 문명을 파괴할 확률이 높다.

이들은 이동과 물자수송에 따른 제약이 크므로, 가는 행성마다 그들의 자취를 남길 것이며, 식민지나 경유지로 넓혀나가게 될 것이다.

어느 정도 발전과 세력을 확보하기 전까지는 끊임없는 확장과 정복을 시행할 확률이 높다.

즉, 인류를 직접적으로 위협할만한 외계문명이 있다면 ‘발달된 외계문명’ 급이 될 확률이 높은 것이다.

그 다음단계가 바로 인류의 문명의 발달 단계인 1만년이상의 과학문명을 발달시켜온 ‘원시적 외계문명’의 유형이다.

이 유형의 외계문명은 1만년이란 세월이 될 것이라고 인류를 빗대어 표현하였지만, 실질적으로는 자원부족과 능력부족 등으로 그 이상의 세월이 허비될 수도 있다.

어쨌든, 이러한 문명의 형태도 자신보다 뛰어난 외계문명의 존재를 잘 알지 못한 채, 살아가게 될 것이다.

물론, 우주에서 그 어떤 존재도 지각하지 못했기 때문에, 자신들이 매우 특별하고 대단한 존재라고 착각하기 쉽다.

어쨌든, 이 문명은 우주로 진출할만한 과학 기술력을 보유할 수도 있지만, 매우 원시적인 형태의 과학 기술력을 보유하여, 제대로 진출하지 못한다.

특히, 외계로부터 자원이나 에너지를 얻을 만한 능력이 되지 않는다는 게, 가장 큰 특징이다. 만약, 진출하더라도 그 행동반경도 매우 좁아, 행성계를 자유롭게 돌아다닐 정도의 능력도 어려운 실정이다.

즉, 행성계 개척 시대라고 불러도 될 것이다.

(나) 지구가 침략 당한다면?

만약, 지구에서 실제로 미약하고 의심스럽게 발견되는 외계문명의 흔적들이 있다면, 그것은 대체로 ‘발달된 외계문명’의 형태에 해당할 것이다. 물론, 아직 현재 인류 단계의 기술로는 명확하게 그 존재를 감지해내거나 소통하기 어려워, 그 존재 여부에 대해서 매우 혼란스러운 시기에 해당한다고 볼 수 있을 것이다.
